After courageously fighting glioblastoma brain cancer for many months, Linda Diane Holmes 70, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, passed at 4:58 am on October 15, 2019.
The celebration of her life was held on Saturday, October 19 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church. Pastor Kendall Kridner-Protzmann officiated.
Diane was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on June 16, 1949. She graduated from Central High School and continued on to earn a bachelor of science in chemistry from Missouri Western State College, as well as her certification as a medical technologist from Trinity Lutheran.
Diane and Jim married on August 24, 1968 . They recently celebrated 51 years of marriage.
Diane trained as a Medical Technologist for many years. She was an employee of Abbott Laboratories for 20 years. She enjoyed reading, learning, traveling,exercising, and sewing. Diane was also an active member in the St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Highlands Ranch, CO.
Diane is survived by husband Jim, children Jeff Holmes (Mary) and Allison Beindorff (Mark) Centennial, Colorado, grandchildren Mackenna Holmes, Wade and Maren Beindorff (Centennial, Co), sister cousins Jan Donovan (Bob of St. Charles, Missouri), Debbie McClure (Mike of St. Joseph, Missouri), Suzan Taylor (Ron of St. Joseph, Missouri), Ann Peacher Messerschmidt (Steve of Raytown, Missouri), and other family and friends.
Diane is preceded in death by parents Homer and Amba Wyatt Smart, cousin Patti Garver, and niece Norrie Grace.
