Aaron Forbes Eurton, a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 4th, 2024 at the age of 49 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is now in the hands of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Aaron was born on April 20th,1975 in Austin, Texas where he lived as a young child before moving to Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 8. During his time in Edmond, Aaron was an active varsity tennis player and a member of the local FFA and graduated from Edmond Memorial High School in 1993.
He attended the University of Oklahoma before moving to Boulder, Colorado where he was the shipping manager of Excel Sports. It was here surrounded by the Flat Irons that Aaron met many of his lifelong friends.
After 3 years in Boulder, Aaron headed to the mountains of Breckenridge, Colorado where he fulfilled his boyhood dream to become a firefighter. Aaron joined the Red, White, Blue Fire Department in 1997. He continued serving Breckenridge and Summit County until 2001 when he then joined the United States Department of Agriculture as a firefighter for the US Forest Service. Aaron fought many fires as a crew member of both the Idaho Panhandle Hotshots and the Pleasant Valley Hotshots. His career as a US Forest Service firefighter took him to all the Western States to include Hawaii and Alaska. Aaron felt his time with his hotshot crews in the forests and on top of mountains was a calling and took great pride in serving his county.
Upon retiring from the fire service in 2008, Aaron returned to the Front Range of Colorado and began a new career in home remodeling where he was able to use his God given talent of creating, designing and building with his hands. His skills were spread through many homes and businesses in the Denver area. Aaron was a favorite of all of his clients as he demonstrated his perfectionist skills to please them. Many of his clients knew they were not only hiring a skilled craftsman but a man with an extraordinary work ethic and character who gained the respect and admiration of all.
In Aaron’s free time he continued to pursue his passion of being outdoors, whether it was skiing as a young adult, hiking, biking, or fishing, playing a round of golf with his dad and friends, gardening or smoking meat with his dog Trooper by his side. Attending many games, Aaron never wavered as a fan of his OU Sooners and Denver Broncos.
Aaron was devoted to his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Joe and Phyllis Eurton, his siblings and their spouses Amy and Dan Holton, and Ash and Leslie Eurton and his nephews and nieces Christian and Morgan, Patrick, Adam, Meredith and Wes all who fondly referred to him as Uncle Yoyo.
Services will be December 18th, 2024 at 10:30 AM, in the Dixon Chapel on the grounds of Cherry Hills Community Church, Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
