Barbara Terry, who never discussed her age, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2023, of natural causes, in Highlands Ranch, CO. She was born Barbara Quayle, on July 26, 1934, in Liverpool, England. Having been stationed in England through the Air Force, she met and soon married her husband, of what would be decades, Donald A. “Don” Terry. Their son, Ralph, was born at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio in 1957, and daughter, Gaynor, in England in 1959. Their youngest son, Alan, was born in 1969 at Scott AFB in Illinois.
Barbara’s passions in life were her family, friends, her pets, and especially her two grandsons, Hudson (13) and Max (9). Her grandsons were the greatest joy of her life in the last 13 years. She loved drinking tea and eating cookies, poodles, shopping at Nordstrom, dining out, Frank Sinatra, meeting friends for a glass of wine, and cooking salmon and potatoes. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Don, her son, Ralph, her sister, Edna, and more recently, her black standard poodle, Surrey. She is survived by her daughter, Gaynor, her son, Alan, daughter-in-law, Kelly, grandsons, Hudson and Max, and many extended family members and friends, who loved her deeply and thoroughly enjoyed her company. In lieu of flowers, and because Barbara always gave to their cause, please consider donating to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
