1957 - 2018
Beverly Jo Bylsma of Littleton, Colorado went to be with her Lord on November 16, 2018 in Tunis, Tunisia. Her death was unexpected by us all but, in our sorrow, we choose to see this as a precious part of God’s perfect plan. Beverly was born on December 6, 1957 to Herman and Antoinette (Toni) Steenstra in Paterson, New Jersey.
Beverly was preceded in death by her father, Herman Steenstra, father in law Gerald (Jerry) Bylsma, sister in law Jerrilie Bylsma and precious nephew Andy Dykstra.
She is survived by her husband Brad Bylsma, daughter Rachel Hansen and her husband Josh, Jordan Bylsma, Jeremy Bylsma and his wife Dana, mother Antionette (Genade) Steenstra, sister Susan Miller and husband Ken, sister Patti McDonnell and husband Kevin, brother Daniel Steenstra and wife Kim, brother Kenneth Steenstra and wife Laura, grandchildren Skyler Bylsma, Jackson Bylsma, Brody Bylsma, Camden Bylsma, Rebekah Hansen, Leah Hansen, Caleb Hansen, Dawnya Bylsma and Hannah Jo Hansen, mother in law Elsie Bylsma, brothers and sisters in law, uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces and their children across the United States.
Beverly grew up in Midland Park, New Jersey and graduated from Eastern Christian High School in 1975. She attended Calvin College where she met her husband Brad. They were married on May 21, 1977. Bev and Brad started their family in Michigan and New Jersey and then moved to Littleton, CO in 1989. Bev was actively involved in ministry at Grace Chapel Englewood immediately after moving to Littleton. She was involved with the women’s ministry at Grace Chapel and also went on several mission trips to help the people of Haiti. In 2003 Bev fell in love with the people of Tunisia and has brought God’s love and practical support to the schools, villages, and friends she made there over the last 15 years. It was at the end of one of her many trips to Tunisia that Bev died suddenly from natural causes. Bev also provided in home daycare to many families over a 26 year period and touched countless lives through her loving services to those dear little ones and their parents.
Bev was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She showered love on her family constantly and prayed for us without ceasing. She touched our lives deeply and her departure from her temporary home on earth leaves a giant hole in our hearts. Knowing that she is with her Lord and Savior in heaven gives us joy in the midst of great sadness.
“I love you Bev!” “We love you mom!” “We love you grandma!”
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Chapel (gracechapel.org/give ), earmarked for the Tunisian Outreach Ministry.
