Bob was born on July 11, 1938 in Denver CO and graduated from South High School in 1956. In 1957 he was called to active duty in the Navy where he served two years on the Air Craft Carrier U.S.S. Bonn Homme Richard as an air craft handler. He was honorably discharged in July 1959.
While in the Navy he was introduced by mail to his wife to be Rochelle. After returning to Denver, Bob & Rochelle dated for a year and were married on July 2, 1960 at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Lakewood, CO. He then worked as a custodial engineer for the Denver Public Schools, while enjoying time with his family hunting, fishing and camping. He also gave his son’s a special love for cars, all cars whether old or new, fast or slow, a love they all still share today.
Bob had a deep faith in God and spent a lot of time working at Our Lady of Lourdes church, helping in any way that he was needed. In retirement, Bob’s passion of woodworking became evident, making sure that all his grandsons had wooden toys that they knew were made with love. He also wanted to make sure others could enjoy the pleasure of a simple wooden toy by working with several charity groups. No toy was too intricate, he loved working on everything from stage coaches to motorcycles to trains.
Bob is survived by his wife Rochelle and their four beautiful sons Michael (Nancy), Patrick (Diane), Steven and Douglas (Heather) and four grandsons Erik (Michael’s son), Matthew and Nicholas (Patrick’s sons), and Jacob (Douglas’s son).
