Bruce Frederick Silkworth, age 73, passed away peacefully early morning on Wednesday September 13, 2023, at home. He was born December 20th, 1949, in Park Forest, Illinois. In his first year of life during emergency operation he lost oxygen that left him developmentally disabled. He completed grade school with the help of his mother and father. He otherwise lived a happy life growing up outside Chicago, Huntington, New York, Denver Colorado, Palatine Illinois. He moved to Boulder when his parents retired in 1983 and moved to Camel Community Living Center in Boulder Colorado. He moved to south Metro Denver in 2005 to be closer to his brother Stephen’s family.

He had a lifelong passion for being outside, sports, Michigan football, the News, horses and cowboys. He lived a productive life contributing as he could, working in structured programs at Skil Tools, Motorola, IBM, Red’s Hardware, and Boulder Eco-cycle. He moved closer to his brother Steve’s family in South Metro Denver in 2006 after his parents passed. He became a noted local and international sign painter before he retired with the help of his sister-in-law for friends, neighbors, and disadvantaged children through Compassion International before passing.

Bruce was preceded by his parents, Walter & Marian Silkworth, and brother Peter Silkworth. He was survived by his brother Stephen, sister in-law Denise, their sons, Mark & Ryan, and his brother Dan, and brother Peter's daughter Melani.  “Uncle” Bruce aways had a mischief way, exceptional memory, loved to laugh, and was a caring brother, and friend to many.
