BRUNO ANTHONY LONDINO, 92, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024 at his home in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. He was born in Russellton, Pennsylvania on November 15, 1931, to Fiore and Beatrice (Stirparo) Londino. Bruno graduated from Springdale High School, in Pennsylvania, in 1949. He joined the Air Force in January of 1951 and left the AF with an Honorable discharge in December of 1954. In March of 1955 he reenlisted back in the Air Force and was active duty until his retirement in 1971. During his AF career he was awarded the following medals:

Meritorious Service Medal for outstanding service to the US:

  • The National Defense Service Medal
  • The GCM Medal for exemplary conduct during a three-year period of active military service. He served in the Koren war from 1952-53
  • The United Nations Service Medal awarded only to those that participated in the Korean War
  • The Koren Service Medal for those participating in the Korean War which includes a bronze star for his approved campaigns
  • The Bronze Star for heroic and meritorious service in combat
  •  

After Korea Bruno was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado assigned to Food Services. He facilitated the opening of the Officer’s and Non-Commissioned (NCO) Officer’s Clubs. The commanding General at Lowry was so impressed with his chef abilities that he immediately made him his personal aide. Except for his one year in Korea and 3 years stationed with his family in Naples, Italy, he served thereafter at Lowry for each in coming General as their personal aide until his retirement in 1971. 

In addition to his AF career, he owned and operated the Lakewood Bar & Grill from 1964 through 1979 working 7 days a week at the Grill and Lowry for the Generals. In 1980 through 1983 he opened Bruno’s Italian Delights in Green Mountain.

He is survived by his children, Danette Londino Howey (Ed Bledowski), Angela M. Turner (Michael Turner), William F. Londino (Cathie Futernick), Thomas A. Londino (Sharon Londino). Grandchildren, Lisa Paris, Mariann Catanuto (David Catanuto), Nicholas Bell (Maria Bell), Adam Turner, Aaron Turner, Karena Dohman (Aaron Dohman). Great-grandhildren, Giovanni Akil Paris, Jaazaniah Anthony Harold Paris, Jocelyn Bell, Nicole Bell, Charlotte Bell, Vittoria Bell, Sebastian Matteo Catanuto, Lucia Francesca Catanuto, Kyler Dohman and Remington Dohman. 

There will be a Rosary at 10am followed by a Catholic mass at 10:30 am on October 7, 2024. The Rosary and mass will be at St. Mark Catholic Church in Highlands Ranch. This will be followed by a ceremony with military honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 3:15 pm (meet at Staging Area B).
