Carol Elaine Springsteen

Carol Elaine Springsteen, 77, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024, in Parker, Colorado. Carol was born on November 14, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas to Charles and Gwendolyn Nixon. She was a graduate of Grand Haven High School in Grand Haven, Michigan where her family was living at the time. She married Ronald “Ron” Springsteen on August 24, 1968 in Wichita, Kansas. Ron and Carol met while she was singing in the Riverlawn Christian Church choir where Ron was the choir director. 

Carol was born in the same hospital in Wichita as her husband two years apart. She lived in Wichita until she moved with her family to Michigan during high school and early college years. She returned to Wichita where she met Ron. After their marriage, they moved Southern California, Texas, Ohio and Indiana before retiring in Parker, Colorado. 

Carol had many interests, hobbies and work experiences. She worked as an executive secretary in a bank, in human resources for Sunkist and for Project Concern. Carol was a competitive swimmer during her school years as both a racer and a synchronized swimmer. Other interests included spending time with her family and friends, being a grandparent “Oma”, reading, traveling, volunteering, swimming, sewing, knitting and crocheting. 

Carol is survived by her husband, Ron, of almost fifty-six years; her daughters, Danielle and husband Jeff, Markelle and husband Cedric, and Rochelle and husband Chris. She had three grandchildren, Danaeh, Alivia, and Nolan. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Gwen, her step-mother Betty and her sister, Nadine. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Carol to the Arthritis Foundation and the Lymphoma Research Foundation. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 1:30pm to 4pm at The Parker Hotel (in the Summit Room on the 4th Floor), 18595 Mainstreet, Parker, Colorado 80134. Guests can find parking in the hotel parking lot, bank parking lot or movie theater parking lot.
