Carol Smith Torsch, 87, of Denver, passed away on July 28, 2018 surrounded by loving family members. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and made a positive difference for so many people in her life. Carol was a remarkable woman who shared her love of friendship, adventure, and learning with all she knew. Her genuine interest in others extended vastly beyond her family and she had the gift of making and nurturing friendships throughout her life. Carol loved the outdoors and spent much time there. She was also very fun loving and was always up for travel, a good book, and any card or board game. Carol married Robert Erich Torsch in 1952. He remained her loving husband until his death in 1990. She was the founder, along with her dear friend Peggy Wiegel, of the Framemakers' Gallery in Louisville, KY. After moving to Denver, CO, she and her daughter Betsy founded Rearrangements, LLC, an interior design business. She is survived by her children Eric Torsch (Bobbi), Dr. Andrew Torsch (Martha), Betsy Wright (Jody) and Peter Torsch (Mary Ann); grandchildren, Ellen Green (Mike), Dana Speed (Lee), Rob Torsch, Sarah Blair (Jason), Melissa Gerhauser (Ben), Will Torsch (Layne), Madeline Smith (Walt), Peter Wright (Lexci), Abigail Wright, Lauren Torsch, and Patrick Torsch; and great-grandchildren Ella, Bo, Tate and Ford. Carol is preceded in death by her husband Bob, parents George and Christine Smith, and brother, Richard Smith. A celebration of Carol's life will be held on the rooftop of the Museum Residences, 55 West 12th Ave Denver, CO on August 24 at 5 PM.
