Clairelise Young

Clairelise Ann Young, age 30, of Highlands Ranch, CO, went home to the Lord peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2025 after a courageous and inspiring 15-month battle with cancer. Her faith in Christ was unwavering to her last breath as she heard those precious words, “well done, good and faithful servant” and was welcomed into His presence forever.

Clairelise was born on September 3, 1994, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Susan (Palm) Post and LTC (ret.) John (Ed) Post Jr., U.S. Army. At an early age Clairelise felt called to follow Jesus and love others above herself. At the age of 7, she chose to get baptized in Delafield Pond at West Point as a public declaration of her faith in God.

Being raised in a military family, Clairelise had the opportunity to live in many states around the country. She formed an inseperable bond with her younger sister, Elisabeth, as they navigated the challenges of moving so much together. Her favorite place to live was Colorado Springs, CO, for all of its natural beauty.

Clairelise’s faith tied in perfectly with her passion for the sciences, as she could so clearly see the hand of God in scientific phenomena all around us. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, with magna cum laude honors.

In 2018, Clairelise married her high school sweetheart, Austin, on a snowy October day in Manitou Springs, CO. She was a dedicated wife who lived out her marriage vows perfectly and sacrifically loved her husband as they walked through the highs and lows of life together.

Clairelise became a proud mama in 2021 to her daughter, Layla, whom she cherished with her whole heart from the very second she was born. In 2024 she gave birth to Isabelle-affectionally known as “Baby Belle”-whom she lovingly referred to as the missing puzzle piece in the family.

Survivors include her husband, Austin Young; children, Layla, 3 and Belle, 1; Sister, Elisabeth Post; Mother, Susan Post; Father, John (Ed) Post; mother in law, Krisanne Young and many beloved aunties, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life for Clairelise will be held on Saturday, April 26th at Southside Bible Church, 7050 S Tucson Way, Centennial, CO at 2 PM. Viewing will precede the service beginning at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Tim Tebow Foundation or sign up for the National Marrow Donor Program.
