On Thursday December 2, 2021 our beloved Debbie passed from this life and into arms of Jesus.
Debra Kay McGivney Wells Estell was born on January 27, 1950 in Inglewood, California to her parents Clifford Lloyd and Lena Marie (Prussman) McGivney.
Debbie is survived by her son Jaime, his wife Britt, daughters Isabel and Ava and son Jesiah; by her son Tory; and by daughter Kerissa and her son, James, daughter, Madison, son Kyle, his wife, Shae and her great granddaughter, Violet; by her sister Sharyn and her husband Gary; and by her husband Ron and his son Jeremy, his wife Jodi and sons Nathan and Jonathon. She was preceded in death by her parents and her niece, Sharen. Debbie has many cousins in northeastern Colorado and her surviving uncle, Lyle and his wife, Jean, in Evans Colorado.
Debbie loved working with her high school reunion committee; to then sing as the group named “Loreleis” once again with her friends, Jeri and Jan; and to generally catch up on her classmate’s activities.
Debbie was an accomplished vocalist who studied voice and opera in High School and College (and often performed at the local memory care center in later years). Her favorite self-taught instruments were guitar, mandolin and banjo. She also performed with her husband, Ron, in a local church praise band. Her love of music was a major thread that ran throughout her life.
Debbie worked for over 50 years as a Cardiovascular Technician and Life Insurance Underwriter. She loved the out of doors and traveling with her husband. After retirement she took up crocheting and created many beautiful Afghans. And she spent many happy hours in her beautiful garden. Her passions were her children, music and her faith in God. Several years ago, she was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Chemotherapy reduced the size of the cancer, enabling surgery. She had been cancer free for seven years when she passed. When she felt ill at ease during her treatment, she imagined Jesus holding and comforting her. I know those were her final thoughts on earth.
The Celebration of Her Life will be held 9 a.m. December 22 at the Cherry Hills Community Church Chapel 3900 GRACE BLVD. HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO 80126. The livestream link will be active ten minutes before the beginning of the service: dixonchapel.cherryhills.com.
