Duane Joseph Ladewig

Duane Joseph Ladewig passed away peacefully at Advent Porter Hospice, Littleton, Colorado, on Friday February 16, 2024 on his 67th birthday.

Duane was born on February 16, 1957, in Morocco, to Earl and Freda (Hurd) Ladewig. As a military family, Duane was especially grateful for his time in Greece where he earned his diving certification in the Mediterranean Sea.

Duane graduated from Englewood High School in 1975 and earned an Associate’s Degree in Computer and Information Technology from Red Rocks Community College with a 4.0 GPA.

He married the love of his life, Jeanne, in 1983 after meeting on Valentine’s Day while skiing in Breckenridge, Colorado. God blessed Duane again with two wonderful children, Paul and Elaine.

Duane was an extremely gifted computer network technician and manager. Employed in the airline and travel industry, he was able to quickly troubleshoot complex issues and bring travel sites back online around the world. He had a gentle caring spirit as a manager, and enjoyed traveling to every continent, save Antarctica.

Duane was loved by many and brought his sense of humor to everyone he encountered. He especially loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, biking, and camping. He had a variety of interests including volunteering with the American Red Cross, dog-walking, and serving as a ham radio operator at special events.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Freda Ladewig and brothers Melvin, Timothy, and William Ladewig. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne, their son Paul Ladewig, daughter Elaine and husband Shane Wolford, grandchildren Raelynn and Emma Wolford and Jaxson and Brooklynn Ladewig, his brother Robert Ladewig and wife Alys, his brother Harry Ladewig, his brother James Ladewig and wife Sandy, his sister Marie Ladewig, his brother Roy Ladewig, his sister-in-law Patricia Ladewig, and cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Catholic mass will be offered on Monday, March 18, 2024, 10:30 AM at St. Frances Cabrini Parish, 6673 W. Chatfield Ave, Littleton, CO.
