Elizabeth Walek

Elizabeth Walek, age 54, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 14th, 2023, at Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, Colorado. She was born on March 28th,1969, to John and Vaso Pavlakis in Buffalo, New York. She resided there for most of her life and later moved to Denver, Colorado.

Elizabeth graduated from Nardin Academy in 1987. She attended Erie Community College for Psychology, where she would eventually meet her husband James. They met on campus when she stopped him as he was hanging flyers for a magazine that included her photography. They married on September 28th, 1996, and raised four children together whom she loved dearly.

Having lived in London and Greece, she was passionate about travel, as well as photography, fashion, and music. However, her greatest joy in life was her family, which she documented through thousands of photos taken over the years. She was wholeheartedly devoted to being a mother; She never missed an event in their lives or an opportunity to talk about how proud she was of her children.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her father, John; and her dog, Kono. She is survived by her mother Vaso, her husband James, her two daughters Katerina and Stephanie, her two sons Nate and Ian, her two granddaughters Lilah and Chloe, and her five grand-pets.

Elizabeth’s family will be holding a Celebration of Life Service in Western New York later this year. Once the celebration is planned, her family will be sure to share the details with those who would like to attend.
