Glenn Lester Brandon, 61, died Tuesday, February 4, after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Glenn was born December 8, 1963 in Santa Monica, CA. He was the youngest of 5 children born to James Thomas "Tom" Brandon and Dolores "Dee" Brandon (nee Kilmer).
When he was an infant, the family moved to Granada Hills, CA, where Glenn grew up. In 1985, Glenn graduated from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Academy. He spent his entire career with LASD, moving up the ranks to Lieutenant. Glenn married Lisa Rueber in 1990 and they soon moved to Lancaster, CA, where they raised their two daughters.
In 2019, after retirement, Glenn and Lisa moved to Sedalia, CO to be closer to family. They bought a house on 5 acres, and have spent the last 6 years making it into a beautiful home filled with love. Glenn greatly enjoyed volunteering with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department and making new friendships within the department.
Glenn loved camping and motorcycling and was teaching his grandson Jack how to ride. He enjoyed mountain biking with friends. Traveling with his family was a tradition handed down from his father. Gummy bears and Froot Loops were favorites of his and were always on hand.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Lisa, daughters Emily Nikoley and Rachel McDaniel, sons-in-law John Nikoley and Matt McDaniel, and grandchildren Jack Nikoley, Penny Nikoley, Carter McDaniel, Blakely McDaniel and Maverick McDaniel. Also surviving are Glenn's mother Dee Brandon, brother Gregg Brandon, sisters Linda Johnson, Laurie Brandon and Lisa Ramirez, parents-in-law Roland and Martha Rueber, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends. Preceding Glenn in death was his father Tom Brandon.
Glenn loved being a girl dad and was a fantastic role model. He has been described as amazing, wonderful, great, dedicated, sweet, caring, one of the good guys, one of the best, and one of a kind.
