Harold “Dale” Slaughter Jr., age 76, of Littleton, Colorado, passed into Glory peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2024. Born on March 29, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas. Dale was the beloved son of Harold Sr. and Guyla (Johnson) Slaughter. He graduated from Evergreen High School in the Class of 1966 and went on to serve his country with pride in the United States Marine Corps.
On March 29, 1967 Dale married the love of his life, Sue (Aslin), with whom he shared 49 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Dale was a dedicated furniture refinisher, working with the CPPC, where his craftsmanship and hard work were highly respected. He had a passion for hunting and all things outdoors.
Dale treasured time spent with family and friends, whether over a warm cup of coffee, a cold beer or a margarita where his good-natured conversation and sense of humor always made for unforgettable moments.
Dale is survived by his children Lynnlee (Matt) Farrell and Loren (Caitlin) Slaughter; and eight grandchildren: Ashlynn, Avery, Abbylynn, Madison, Jacob, Vail, Ford, and Finley, as well as his lady friend Eva Hart and many cherished friends who all love and adore him. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Sue, their son Lonny, and his brother Russell.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing Friday, September 27, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Heflebower Funeral Services, 8955 S. Ridgeline Blvd. #100. A funeral service to celebrate Dale's life will be held Monday, September 30, 2024, at 9 AM at Brave Church, 3800 E. Hampden Ave., officiated by Pastor Justin Hart, followed directly with interment at Fort Logan Cemetery Staging Area C, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO 80236. Following the gravesite services the family invites you to join them for a reception at the family home, 10963 N Chatfield Dr., Littleton, CO 80125.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Wounded Warrior Project or Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome Association.
We pray Dale’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
