Jacqueline Marlene Prebish, 78, passed away peacefully at her home in Lone Tree CO on December 25, 2021. She was born in Greeley, CO to Alfred and LaVerne (Miller) Viefhaus on June 25, 1943. She graduated from Kersey High School in 1961 and married ElRoy Kohler shortly after. They started their family in Kersey and worked on their family farm until she was widowed in 1976. She then married James Prebish in Waialua, HI in 1979. They raised hogs and greyhounds South of Kersey until retirement in 1995.
Jacqueline loved volunteering at Platte Valley Schools where she read to young students and chaperoned field trips. She enjoyed beautiful things and had a sense of style that was reflected in her home and personal fashion. Jacqueline enjoyed hosting special occasions and would open her home to anyone that needed a place to go for the holidays. She loved decorating for every season and occasion, she never missed a detail. One of her favorite hobbies was sending greeting cards. She would always add her personal touch to each card with ribbons and tassels. In addition to homemaking, Jacqueline enjoyed a career in photography that included owning a studio in Georgetown, Co. She relocated to Lone Tree, CO in 2015.
She is preceded in death by her first husband ElRoy Kohler, second husband James Prebish and stepdaughter Lorrie Prebish.
Jaqueline is survived by her son Scott (Kaye) Kohler, Berthoud, Co; daughter Jill (Dan) Rondinelli, Castle Rock, CO; and stepson John (Paula) Prebish, Loveland, Co; grandchildren Justin, Tony (April) Kohler, Victor, and Kyle Rondinelli, Tyler, Tanner, and Tobin Prebish; great-grandchildren, Todd, Robyn, and Hudson Kohler.
Jacqueline’s interment of ashes are in the Memory Garden located at Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch, CO. A memorial will be held on June 25, 2022, Jacqueline’s birthday, at the home of
Scott Kohler.
