Joan Englemen Blyth, 80, of Monument, Colorado, passed away on August 19, 2018 surrounded by loving family members. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and made a positive difference for so many people in her life.
Joan was a remarkable woman who shared her love of friendship with all she knew. Her genuine interest in others extended vastly beyond her family and she had the gift of making and nurturing friendships throughout her life. Besides the dear Love she had for Clay, Joan loved life and the Lord Jesus Christ will all of her heart and soul. She enjoyed so many things to her fullest which includes the beauty of Colorado nature and the outdoors along with family and friends.
Joan was Born February 26th 1938 in Maywood, IL. She graduated the Class of 1956 at Proviso High School in Maywood. Joan was married at the age of 17 to Clayton Ames Blyth on May 28, 1955 in a beautiful old Baptist Church in Petersburg, Virginia. They only had 3 days together after their wedding as Clayton shipped off to Germany with the Army. Joan and Clayton, 2 years later moved to Saumur, France from which they started a family.
Joan and Clay where married a lovingly 57 years until Clayton Passing in 2012. Joan is survived by 3 Sons, Clinton, Clifford and Daniel along 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren who all reside in Colorado.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, August 30th at the Dixon Chapel at Cherry Hills Community Church, 3900 Grace Blvd, Highlands Ranch, CO 80126. Relatives and friends are welcome.
