Joseph Maxwell Hanley “Joey Max”, died on November 24, 2017 at home in his parents’ arms after a tenacious battle with a rare brain tumor. He fought with determination and grace while leaving smiles in his wake.
Joey Max was born in Castle Rock, Colorado on July 21, 2015. He loved to run, swim and splash. He was a Colorado kid, ready for outdoor adventure no matter the weather. He had an infectious smile that constantly attracted people to him everywhere he went. Whether he was at the grocery store or lumber yard someone was always trying to shake his hand or get attention from him. He loved bright colors, Mickey Mouse, Minions, his tiger and anything with buttons. He was very methodical and liked order. He was quick to let you know if something was not done according to his liking. He loved working on projects with his Dad and reading books with his Mom. He made sure his grandparents never missed tea time and that his baby sister always had a blanket.
He is survived by his loving parents Eve and Joe Hanley of Castle Rock, CO; sister Lily Piper Hanley; puppy Dublin; paternal grandparents Nonna and Papa, Michele and Joe Hanley of Monument Colorado; uncle Aaron, aunt Janet and cousin Logan Hanley of Blackhawk, CO; uncle Al, aunt Katie and cousin Thalia Brandes of Orlando, FL; paternal grandparents Don Brandes of St. Augustine, FL and Pam Brandes of Albuquerque, NM.
There will be a memorial service Saturday December 9, 2017 at 1100 at the “Club at Pradera”, in Parker, CO. A collation will follow the service.
