Joseph Lawrence Marquez of Highlands Ranch passed away July 9, 2022, in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. He was born on June 28, 1970. He is survived by his fiance, Lisa Zervos Clutter, and three sons; Justin (Paula Svendsen), David and Tyler Marquez (Michelle Marquez). He is also survived by his sister, Deborah Case (Brad) nephews Kyle and Erick, and brother, Mx. Anunnaki Ray Marquez (James) nephew Jaime, nieces Veronica and Xena; step-mother Elinore Marquez (Martin), step-brother Richard Martin, and step-sister Michele List (David). He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Barbara Marquez, and his oldest sister, Veronica Marquez.
Joe had a Master’s of Arts from the University of Northern Colorado and was proud of his professional accomplishments as Director of Public Relations for Colorado Mountain College, CoBank, Colorado Community College System, Taxpayer Agent for Colorado Department of Revenue, and presently History Colorado System of Museums. Joe always had a way of relaying information in a professional, informative, and interesting format.
As a young child, Joe's first journey with technology was in taking apart a typewriter. He quickly moved on to making his own computers, tv's out of computer parts, and was a lover of new technology and gadgets. Joe was an enthusiastic sports fan, lover of nature, empathetic listener, and connoisseur of food. He was a loving father and significantly helped raise medical awareness of argininosuccinic aciduria. Joe was always the family peacekeeper. He just wanted his family to love each other and to always be together. Joe loved visiting with family and friends. He was proud of his heritage and extended Marquez family relationships. His smile brought joy to all who were around him. Joe will be deeply missed. He has soared home on eagle wings to rest with his eternal family.
Joe passed away with his family by his side. His family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses that cared for him at UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital. A private family interment will be held on July 22, 2022, at 11 am at Littleton Cemetery, 6155 S. Prince St. Littleton, CO 80120. Minister Rev. Michelle Scavetta from Mile Hi Church will officiate. He will be lovingly resting with his family, Barbara JoAnne Marquez (1943-2004), Lawrence Benedict Marquez (1940-2011), and Veronica Marquez (1962-1978), grave site RA 138 grave 5.
