Judith Ann Nelson (Gaul), 71, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado went to be with Jesus at 7:46 am on Friday April 22 at St. Joseph hospital in Denver, Colorado.
A celebration of her life will be held in the Dixon Chapel at Cherry Hills Community Church on Thursday April 28th at 1:00pm and will immediately be followed by a reception.
Judy was born on July 21,1944 in Altus, Oklahoma to Barbara and George Gaul. She grew up in Libertyville, Illinois. After graduating from Libertyville High School she went to Milikin University in Decatur, IL where she graduated.
Judy then moved to Denver, Colorado. She was working for Condit (who created and manufactured exhibits for trade shows) when she met her husband Bruce Nelson. They were married on November 28th, 1975. In 1977 they moved to Albuquerque, NM where together they started Nelco Electronix, a Manufacturer Rep business, that she co-owned and worked inside sales for 35 years.
They lived and raised their family in Albuquerque for 17 years. In 1995, they moved their business and family to Colorado. They lived in Lone Tree for 10 years then moved next door to Highlands Ranch where they have been ever since. Both Judy and Bruce attended and were very involved at Cherry Hills Community Church. She especially enjoyed knitting prayer shawls for the sick.
Judy and Bruce were enjoying retirement and traveling. While they were visiting family in San Diego, California, on March 14th, Judy became suddenly very ill with an unknown disease that was later diagnosed as acute pancreatitis. She was strong and by many answered prayers she was able to spend more then 5 additional weeks with us. By the generous gift of someone we were able to have her transported back to Colorado where she spent the last few days of her life surrounded by family and friends. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed as we celebrate her wonderful life and rejoice in her being reunited with her Savior.
She is survived by her husband Bruce Nelson, children Ken Nelson, Melissa Herrmann, Jennifer Ostrom, Tami Beckham, and Kristine Nelson, 14 grandchildren, and 3 great
grandchildren.
