Julia Evelyn Marlatt

Julia Evelyn Marlatt (known by all as Evelyn) went to meet her Savior and loved ones who passed before her on October 28, 2021, in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Evelyn’s children, Duane and Alisa Marlatt, were by her side when she left this world. Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Evelyn was born to Julia and James Hulin Forsyth on January 3, 1943, in Columbus, Georgia. Evelyn and her husband, Harold “Butch” Marlatt, raised their children in Grand Terrace, California. Evelyn worked many years serving the public as a Claims Representative for the Social Security Administration. After retiring, Evelyn and Butch moved to Colorado to be closer to their beautiful grandchildren. Evelyn spent her free time in retirement with her family, seeking out local garage sales, and taking weekend trips to Black Hawk with Butch to play video poker.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Duane, and his wife, Gwen Marlatt, her daughter, Alisa, and her husband Justin Gentry, as well as her beloved grandchildren Hayden, Jake, and Cole Marlatt, all of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Evelyn was the eldest of 8 siblings. She is also survived by her brothers, Larry, Ronald and Donald Forsyth, as well as her sisters, Barbara Fridley and Elaine Fuller. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Harold “Butch” Marlatt, her mother Julia Forsyth, her father James Hulin Forsyth, and her brothers, Kenneth and Jimmy Forsyth.

The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at 12:00PM (Mountain Time) at Heflebower Funeral Home located at 8955 South Ridgeline Boulevard, Suite 100, Highlands Ranch, Colorado 80129. The service will be live streamed and can be viewed through Heflebower Funeral Services Facebook page. Evelyn will be laid to rest with her husband at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
