It is with great sadness that the family of Kevin Hartmann announces his passing on February 3, 2019, at the age of 39. Kevin was born February 6, 1979, in Chicago Heights, Illinois to Ronald Hartmann and Victoria Hartmann (Torpy). He grew up in Matteson and Manhattan, Illinois and is a 1997 graduate of Lincoln-Way Central High School. Kevin dedicated his life to public service and spent over 20 years as a firefighter and policeman in both Illinois and Colorado. Kevin was most recently a resident of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and worked as a police officer for Englewood Police Department.
In addition to his parents, Kevin will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jennifer Hartmann (Truffa) and his children, Zack (13), Ben (11) and Rachel (8). Kevin is also survived by his two loving sisters, Kelly and Kourtney, as well as his father-in-law John (Cheryl), his mother-in-law Marylynn, sister and brothers in-law Mary (Bob), John (Kim) and Kristen (Liam). Kevin will also be forever remembered by his loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. He will forever be missed by his two closest friends he considered his brothers, Jeff Honeycutt and Jamie Cavallero.
Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Friday, February 8th, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. In honor of Kevin’s public service, there will be a fire and police final walk through at 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to help mitigate the family’s financial burden.
