Larry Lynn Smith was born May 16, 1947 to Marjorie Elaine Sandison Smith and Gerald Maxwell Smith. He was raised in Casper, WY, and he enlisted in the Army in 1965 upon graduation from high school. From 1965 to 1968, he served as an active duty member, and from 1968 to 1971, he continued to serve in the reserves. Shortly after finishing his service, he married Cynthia Nichols on June 17, 1973 in Casper, WY. Larry graduated from the University of Wyoming in December 1976, whereon he worked as a consultant in the computer industry for the next 40 years. He traveled extensively and greatly enjoyed bowling and golf. For the last 20 years of his life, he spent a large deal of time refereeing and mentoring young soccer referees. While not busy with work and soccer, Larry spent his time with his family and his church community. Larry passed away surrounded by family on October 27, 2018 in Denver, CO aged 71. He is survived by his wife Cindy, his brother Don and twin sister Cheri, his children Eric, Lisa, and David, and his two grandchildren, Cierra and Cole.
