Laura McRell passed away on March 27, 2025 after an extended, challenging, and remarkable battle enduring four years during which only limited positive results were realized. During that time, her strength and fight inspired all of those around her.
Laura is survived by her husband, Andy; her dog, Lincoln; her parents, Glen and Ellen, and her brother, Brett.
Laura and Andy met on a Habitat for Humanity project more than 15 years ago, Habitat for Humanity remained a cornerstone of their lives together.
Laura insisted that not every instance in life is sunshine and roses. In this regard, she was famously stubborn - a necessity dealing with Andy and three beloved dogs through the years. In particular with Lincoln and her food particularities.
So much more than these things, Laura was the light of life to those fortunate enough to have her care about them. Quick to laugh, and slow to anger, affectionately known as “Queen Bee“ a name that inspired regular laughs within the family, Laura was fiercely protective and always caring and compassionate to those around her.
She loved traveling, especially to the next great adventure. Andy plans to bring her along with him and Lincoln to those special places they visited before and to visit new places discussed before her passing, but time did not allow for her.
In lieu of flowers her requests are donations to:
Project Cure, Environmental Learning for Kids (ELK), Wild Animal Sanctuary, a local animal rescue (bonus points for husky or pitbulls), or Warmie (https://warmies.com/collections/warmies) stuffed animals can be sent to Andy for an ongoing project they started this Christmas to provide them to Children’s Hospital and Samaritan House.
