Marilyn Mae (Swanson) Johnson, 89, passed away peacefully in Littleton, CO on November 30th, 2021.
Born in Moline, IL to Sherman and Eleanor Swanson, Lynn Center, Illinois. Survived by 6 of 7 children : Beth, Spring, TX, Sarah Fuller, Fairfax, VA, Kent, Richfield, UT, Lisa, Littleton, CO, Todd (Linda), Colorado Springs, CO, and Mark (Melissa), Littleton, CO, and 4 grandchildren — Haley & Megan Fuller, Paige & Trevor Johnson.
Marilyn grew up attending Andover Lutheran Church. She graduated from Augustana College in 1954 where she met and married Rev. Stanley S. Johnson. Marilyn taught school, was an at-home mom, then worked at Illini Hospital as a medical records transcriptionist which she continued as she moved to Tennessee, Georgia, and Colorado.
Marilyn is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Nancy, her parents, and two brothers, Everett Swanson and Paul Swanson. She is survived by two sisters, Eunice Anderson, Burnsville, MN and Jane Hollins, Smyrna, TN, a brother Wayne (Kathy) Swanson, Lynn Center, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews. Per her wishes, there will be no memorial service and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Denver Hospice (thedenverhospice.org) or Nourish Meals on Wheels (nourishmealsonwheels.org).
