Marion Jane Fiume

Marion Jane Fiume (Kiszka), age 76, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, CO. She was born November 7, 1946, in Staten Island, New York, to William and Amelia Kiszka (Scarnato). She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Jamaica, New York, two years early and attended nursing school at Kings County Nursing School to obtain her RN. She continued her studies and became a Nurse Anesthetist at the age of 20 from Down State Medical Center where she began her CRNA career. Upon relocating to Glastonbury, Connecticut in 1974, she continued her passion in healthcare as an EMT for the Glastonbury Volunteer Ambulance Association for 10 years and also worked as a Pharmacy Assistant at Arrow Drug & Pharmacy. Her family fondly remembers many weekends of the ambulance parked at the house when she was on call.

She has two children, Laura (Scheer) and Gregory Fiume and was involved in her children’s schools and activities and was well known amongst their friends. She enjoyed reading, knitting/crochet, golf, gardening, playing cards and was an excellent cook. She allowed her children to raise a menagerie of pets including dogs Scooby and Champ, cats Mittens and Scamper and many others including fish, frogs, hamsters and newts. She loved them all.

She also lived in Odenton, MD and moved to Lone Tree, Colorado, in 2017 and loved living at MorningStar at RidgeGate. She was a vibrant resident at MorningStar at RidgeGate, enjoying Chairing the Food Committee, playing bingo, spending time with her friends and staff and enjoying outings around the Denver area. She was incredibly generous with her time, skills and knowledge and always went out of her way to help others.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, William and Amelia and her brother, Paul. She is survived by her two sisters, Anita and Margaret; her daughter Laura (Scheer), her son Gregory, son-in-law Stephen, daughter-in-law Carolyn, her four grandchildren, Mason, Kaelyn, Daniel and Thomas; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Marion’s family will be celebrating her memory with a Catholic Memorial Mass at Pax Christi Church (Highlands Ranch) on August 4th, 2023 at 11:00 am.
