Matthew (Matt) Ethan Allsman, aged 63, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 9th, 2023, at his home in Parker, Colorado, surrounded by family. He was born March 19th, 1960, in Stockton, California to Walter and Jean Allsman, and was the younger brother to Cindy. Matt graduated from South High School in Bakersfield, California in 1978. Through a mutual friendship, he found Sena, the love of his life whom he adored every day since. The couple married in 1981 and began a family a few years later. Matt and Sena had two children, Brandon and Vanessa, who are each married, and have two children of their own, respectively. Matt entered a plumbing apprenticeship in Southern California, and after relocating to the Denver area, he mastered the trade and started his own commercial plumbing business, which he operated with Sena for the remainder of his life.
Matt’s spirit in life exuded honesty, hard work, and sincere appreciation for his many blessings. He was exceptionally well-read, an informed armchair political pundit, jack of all trades, and a model husband, father, friend, and business operator. He was a sentimental man who never failed to have a perfectly articulated message of his pride, devotion, and adoration for his wife, children, and grandchildren on each holiday or special occasion. He enjoyed and found peace in building things, a trait he inherited from his parents. Matt and Sena lovingly remodeled every house they owned, kept and restored a truck that he had owned since he was a teenager, and fulfilled a lifelong dream of building the house that he and Sena had envisioned, for decades. Matt’s integrity and character were an incredible force which will undoubtedly continue to influence those close to him, for generations to come.
Matthew put his faith in Jesus Christ, and he lived each day humbled by the gift of life that was bestowed upon him. In Heaven, Matthew joined his parents Walt and Jean, as well as his nephew Nick. His memory will live on through his wife Sena, children Brandon and Vanessa, their spouses Kathleen and Chris, his grandchildren Wyatt, Allie, Willa, and Caleb, his sister Cindy, Sena’s parents Chuck and Sue, his brothers and sister-in-law, his nieces and nephew, his cousins, and many other great people who were fortunate enough to share his company in life.
Matt’s family will be holding a celebration of life at New Hope Presbyterian Church in Castle Rock, on Saturday, May 6th, at 11:00am. A small church reception will immediately follow the service. An additional reception will be held at the Allsman home, address to be provided during the service. Matt's custom was to wear a Hawaiian shirt for “Fun Shirt Friday” every week, so please feel free to bring your fun/Hawaiian shirts to wear at the reception at the Allsman home.
