Nancy Jill Morrell

Nancy Jill Morrell, 61, passed away peacefully on the evening of December 29, 2022, at her home in Castle Rock, Colorado. Nancy was born in Denver, Colorado on December 20, 1961 to Isabel and Joel Sheehan. Nancy was a beloved wife, sister, mother and friend. Nancy met the love of her life, Eric in 1980 and they married on March 5, 1988. Together they created three wonderful children, Samantha, 34, Madison, 32 and Chet, 30. She had one grandchild, Elouise. Nancy was known as “Gigi" to Elouise. Just before her passing, Nancy was able to get some comforting news that she had two additional grandchildren on the way.

Nancy grew up in the neighborhood of Cherry Knolls and graduated from Arapahoe High School. She is survived by her four siblings, Gary Sheehan, Pat Sheehan, Todd Sheehan and Jane Morrell. She also leaves behind multiple nieces and nephews.

Nancy was an extremely strong willed, creative, and fun loving person. Behind every person she met, there was a great story. She embraced interactions and made every situation memorable. She was the life of the party and her laugh was one of a kind. Her small stature was no comparison to her huge heart. She was known for taking care of those around her. She had a lifelong love of animals and took many rescues into her home including dogs, cats, birds, llamas and horses.

Not only was Nancy known as an incredible wife, mother, compassionate friend and sister, she was also known for her astounding creativity. She had the ability to build and create anything including her unique birdhouses, furniture or one of a kind projects. Nancy loved ceramic art over the years but finally brought her hobby to fruition and created a business with her daughter, Madison. Within the first year, it became an extreme success. Her art will always be admired and cherished.

Nancy's heart and spirit and energy will never fade. Her laugh, smile and thoughtfulness will be ingrained in all of us. No words can express how deeply she will be missed and we know she is in Heaven enjoying all of the things she loved.

A service for Nancy will be held Thursday, January 12 at 2:30 PM st Saint Thomas More Catholic Church - 8035 South Quebec St. Englewood, Colorado 80112. Reception at same location to follow.
