Narvie Kennedy-Scott

Narvie Kennedy-Scott passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, in her hometown of Denver, CO. She was born on January 24, 1954, in Pageland, SC to the late Heyward and Carrie Kennedy. Narvie was a wonderful mother, wife, and grandmother, always putting her family first. Sacrificing her own happiness and comfort for the betterment of their lives. She was lively, humorous, kind, full of surprises and had an incredible spirit of endurance and hope. She shared her life and opened her heart to others with understanding and compassion. Always offering prayer and giving solace to her coworkers and those suffering or in need.

Narvie’s educational development took place in the public schools of McBee, SC., Benedit College. And the University of South Carolina where she majored in Biology. During her time at Benedit, she met her love Arthur Scott, Jr. – whom she would later marry and give birth to their daughter Rory.

She attended Mission Hills Church faithfully. Most recently Narvie was a vital team member at First Citizens Bank. Her willingness to go above and beyond for her clients and team members was her “trademark”. This along with her passion for great customer service allowed her to be a very successful salesperson as well. She was hardworking and had a genuine connection with people and saw the best in everyone beyond their circumstances and story. Narvie also enjoyed the beauty and wonder of nature. You could always find her outside gardening and chasing away the foxes and bunnies. She always had the most beautiful yard, plants, and flowers. She loved sharing plants and veggies from her garden and was amazed by the power/miracle held in each tiny seed.

Narvie’s departure had a tremendous impact on many lives. She leaves to cherish fond memories: her husband, Arthur Scott, Jr.; a daughter, Rory Scott-Koerber; a son-in-law, Anthony Koeber; two grandsons, Sebastian Scott-Koerber, and Leo Scott-Koerber; two sisters, Delbra (AZ) Williams and Je-Nata Newman; several brothers, Frank (Diane) Kennedy, Andrew Kennedy, Lucious Kennedy, John (Chase) Kennedy, and Silas (Shirley) Kennedy; father-in-law: William Koeber; mother-in-law, Joanie Koeber; a host of nephews and nieces; very special friends and loving neighbors; as well as, additional cousins and friends and untold hearts she touched through her love and humanity. Narvie was preceded in death by her father; Heyward Kennedy; mother, Carrie Kennedy: father-in-law, Arthur Scott, Sr.; mother-in-law, Hattie Y. Scott; brother, Aaron Kennedy; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Kennedy; brother-in-law, James Newman; nephew, Jamie Newman; and a host of other relatives, i.e. uncles, aunts, cousins.

Narvie’s radiant presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her loving kindness, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to her family and community will continue to touch the lives of others for generations to come.

Rest in eternal peace, dear Narvie. You will be forever cherished and deeply missed.

Please keep the Scott family in your thoughts and prayers during their time of bereavement.
