Paul Garcia

Paul Jake Garcia, died peacefully on June 3, 2023 in Aurora, Colorado at the age of 77. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Doris Mae Hawkins; his brothers, Ray, Sam, Gil, and Hank Garcia; and his parents, John B. and Cecilia Lucero-Garcia. Paul is survived Brother Wil, Sister Helen, his son Anthony, and Granddaughter Jazelle Garcia.

Paul was born on August 20, 1945 in Boulder, CO. He graduated from Fairview High School in Boulder, Colorado. He married the love of his life Doris Mae Hawkins August 12, 1974, and on Feb. 19th, 1983 they renewed their vows at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Paul had a long and fruitful career working for The City of Boulder, and retiring with them after 35 years of service. Paul and Doris adopted and welcomed 1 child, Anthony Garcia, into their home and lives in 1978.

Paul had a deep passion for fishing, music and laughter. He was generous, witty, and a dedicated individual who loved his family. He was an active and dedicated member of the US Armed forces, and served in the Vietnam War. Paul was also dedicated to his faith, where he practiced at St. John the Baptist Church in Longmont, Colorado, and served as an usher for over 30 years.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for July 7, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with a reception to follow at American Legion in Longmont.
