Richard (Dick) Vaughan Bierman, 93, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at home in Pasadena, CA. He was born on November 23, 1928 in Hollywood, CA to George and Doris Bierman. He attended Senn High School in Chicago, IL and College at the University of Nebraska. He got his Masters in Civil/Structural Engineering at the University of Illinois. He married Ruby Alonso in Rushville, NE in 1954 and immediately moved to Pasadena, Ca where he had an engineering job waiting for him.
Dick worked for the Fluor Corp. for 41 years, first in Los Angeles and then in Irvine, CA. He traveled extensively to work on construction projects in far off places such as Japan, Korea and Indonesia. He rose through the ranks to manage two departments and was a Project Manager more than once. Dick had many interests he would engage in such as sailing, competitive shooting, and he was an accomplished wood worker. In the 1960s he drew up plans and oversaw an addition to their home. He loved to take the family out for drives to enjoy the scenery. Dick had a very easy-going personality and was loved by many.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, George and Doris, and son, Bruce.
Those left to cherish his memory are his dear wife, Ruby, daughter, Debbie and husband, Tom, Brother, Wally and wife, Judy, grandson, Michael and wife, Beca, granddaughter, Hailey, two great granddaughters, many nieces and nephew. A Celebration of Life was held at the Wolkins residence in Glendora, CA on January 31, 2022.
