Richard Drew Hofman, lovingly known as Drew, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, at the age of 79. Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Drew was a proud lifelong resident of the city he loved.
A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Drew served his country with honor and pride. He carried the discipline and commitment of a Marine throughout his life, along with a deep sense of loyalty to his family and friends.
Drew is survived by his daughter, Dawn; his grandsons, Cody and Brandon; his great-grandchildren, Renata and Logan; and countless friends whose lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Cynthia (Vangendren) Hofman.
Drew was an avid racing fan, often times he would watch the race on one TV and the Broncos on the other. Summers found him at the lake, boating, waterskiing, and fishing—some of his greatest joys were time spent at the lake with family and friends. Known for his knack for fixing things (sometimes unconventionally), Drew was always ready to lend a helping hand. His stubbornness was matched only by his big heart and his unwavering desire to help others.
A Memorial Gatherine will be held on December 19, 2024, from 10:30–11:30 a.m. at Heflebower Funeral Services, followed by a graveside service with military honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Drew's memory by doing something he loved: spend time outdoors, fix something for someone in need, or simply help a neighbor.
Drew will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his love, his laughter, and his selfless generosity.
