Richard "Dick" Millham

Richard “Dick” Millham, 76, passed away on August 15, 2023. Although a failing heart took him from us too soon, his fighting spirit will remain an inspiration to his family and friends.

Dick is survived by his wife Gail (Crowley), sons Christopher Wheatley and wife Jennifer, Jay Wheatley and partner Jolynne Batchelor. He is survived by brother Daniel Millham (wife Aleta), sisters Ellen Phelps and Barbara Koski (husband Bill). He is also survived by Gail’s siblings James Crowley (wife Micki), Cheryl Appe (husband Don), Michael Crowley (wife Karen) and Johanna Richey (husband Michael). He had many nieces and nephews and enjoyed the company of each and every one of them. His great nieces and nephews brought particular joy to him as he doted on their picture and videos.

He is predeceased by his parents Lester and Lillian Millham, parents in law Charles and Pauline Crowley, brother Ernest Millham and his wife Glenna, sister Marilyn Miner and her husband Gerald Miner.

To say that he loved his grandchildren more than life itself is an understatement. He was so proud of Madison, Cailin, Reagan, Ethan, Owen, Audrey and Abigail and was happiest when he was with them. He was the best “Pepe” a child could wish for, teaching them many important life lessons as well as how to laugh and love.

Dick was born on September 17, 1946 in Burlington, VT. He attended Hinesburg High School and Champlain College. He served as a Sgt in the US Air Force from July 1966 until July 1970. He was employed by Sears Roebuck for 35 years retiring in 2006. He and Gail moved to Colorado in 2006 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. He found a new calling as a handyman and furniture maker and had a new community of best friends.

Dick was a kind, compassionate, witty, and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be truly missed.

The family will hold a private memorial service at Heflebower Funeral & Cremation Services, 8955 South Ridgeline Boulevard, Ste. 100, Highlands Ranch, 80129 on Saturday, September 30th from 10-12 PM.
