Robin Lynn Nelson, 55, passed away on, January 11, 2018.
Rob was born October 21, 1962, in Jamestown, North Dakota. He lived his childhood in
North Dakota. In his teenage years, Rob and his family moved to Brussels, Belgium.
There he attended Brussels American High School, where he played football and
basketball, he had a passion for sports that continued throughout his life. Rob moved
back to the United States to Golden, Colorado where he attended and graduated from
Golden High School in ‘80. He served in the Army from ‘81 until ’84 when he was
honorably discharged. He attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, graduating
from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Rob was married to Wendy Lea Nelson
from 1991 to 2012 and together they had two children, Mitchel and Danielle Nelson. He
loved fly-fishing, golf, cheering for the CU Buffs, and rock n’ roll music. Most of all he
loved his children. He is survived by his Mother and Father; Donna and Monte Nelson,
Son; Mitchel Nelson, Daughter; Danielle Nelson, Sister; Marnie Sizemore and many
more family and friends. Son, Father, Brother, Teammate, Friend, Coach, Rob Nelson
was loved dearly and will be remembered forever.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 20, at the St. Andrew United Methodist
Church.
Graveside Services will be held at 12:15 PM, Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Ft. Logan
National Cemetery in Denver, CO. If attending this service, please arrive by 12:00
Noon at the “C” staging area.
