Thomas Floyd Tanguay

Thomas (Tom) Floyd Tanguay passed away peacefully on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Lakeside Post Acute in Wheatridge, Colorado just shy of his 76th birthday. He was born on Feb. 29th,1948 in Barre, Vermont to Carl and Velda (Floyd) Tanguay.

In early years, Tom and his siblings (Linda, Susie, Al, and John) were raised in Moline, Kansas near many cousins, aunts, uncles and their grandparents. The family moved to Broomfield, Colorado in the 60’s.

Tom was in military service having served in the Army in Vietnam where he was wounded and received a Purple Heart.

Tom attended Broomfield High School where he met Joan Carroll. They were married and had one son, Tommy Chris. They enjoyed going to his many sporting events, especially basketball and baseball.

He was a skilled carpenter his whole life. As a family Tom, Joan and Tommy loved fishing and camping. Tom was a huge Broncos fan and enjoyed going to the Rockies games.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Carroll) Tanguay; his son, Thomas Christopher Tanguay; his parents, Carl and Velda Tanguay; his sister, Susan (Tanguay) Carroll; his brothers, Albert and John Tanguay. Tom is survived by his sister, Linda Olson of Florida; his nephews Tom Wilpolt, Jerry Wilson, Travis Olson and Jared Tanguay; his nieces Tracy Webber, Diana Wilson, Kristy Wilson, Tasha Sunshine, Tera Ficco, and Andi Randall, as well as many great nephews and nieces.

There will be a graveside service at Olinger Cemetery, 10201 Grant St. Thornton, Colorado on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 1pm where he will be buried next to Tommy and Joan. Please feel free to stop by and share in the laughs, memories, and reminiscing.
