Timothy Edgar Shea

Timothy Edgar Shea, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on January 4, 2025, at the age of 68. Born in Denver, Colorado, on November 9, 1956, to David J. Shea and Charlotte Shea, Tim was the cherished brother of David Joseph Shea Jr. and Sean Michael Shea and beloved cousin to Jill Murphy.

Tim grew up in Park Hill and attended Blessed Sacrament Grade School, where he formed lifelong friendships that would be a central part of his life. He later attended Regis High School, where he continued to build a wide circle of friends, including many from other high schools.

In 1983, Tim married Jeannette Carroll, a fellow Denver native whom he met while both worked at Mercy Hospital near City Park. Through their shared experiences, they forged a deep connection, and together, they recognized how fleeting and precious life is. Their bond only grew stronger as they met new friends and families, continuously expanding their circle of relationships.

Tim graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver with a degree in Computer and Management Science. His career spanned both the private and public sectors, starting with oil and gas, then transitioning to public radio and ultimately spent most of his career in software.

During his time in the software industry, Tim led a highly successful, award-winning worldwide technical support team, with members across the UK, Australia, Russia, and the United States. His professional career was marked by his dedication to developing lasting relationships with his colleagues, many of whom became close friends.

Above all, Tim’s greatest pride and joy were his three daughters: Emily Shea, who is married to Dustin Gordon and mother to grandson August Henry Gordon; Claire Shea; and Callie White, who is married to Donald White. Tim and Jeannette were immensely proud of their daughters, all of whom earned their bachelor’s degrees from Colorado State University—Go Rams! They loved to travel as a family and explore different parts of the world.

Tim was deeply committed to volunteering throughout his life, especially in education and community enrichment.

A lover of animals, Tim found comfort in the companionship of dogs (and eventually cats). He believed they were a source of therapeutic support. He also had a deep passion for sports, especially basketball. He enjoyed playing with friends, as well as supporting his favorite team, the Denver Nuggets. Tim also enjoyed golfing, skiing, hiking, and biking. Tim’s sense of humor was as sharp as his golf swing—though, as those who played with him know, his swing could sometimes be a bit of a mystery!

Tim’s spirituality was an integral part of who he was. Raised Catholic, he developed a deep respect for all religions. He prayed for the well-being of his family and friends, and his spirit continues to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Tim’s battle with pancreatic cancer went undetected until it reached an advanced stage. Throughout his illness, he was grateful for the care provided by his doctors and nurses. Tim found

peace in knowing he had the time to prepare for his passing and reflected often on the blessed, privileged life he had lived.

Tim will be deeply missed and forever loved by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. His legacy of love, friendship, and community will continue to inspire those who knew him.

A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at City Park Golf Clubhouse, 2500 N York Street, Denver, CO , March 15th, 2025, from 11:00am-3:00 pm. Please feel free to stop by and share in the laughs, memories, and reminiscing.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to the High Line Canal Conservancy or a charity of your choice.
