Well—this time he really did leave us. We know the obituary is late, but we waited till after cremation to be sure this was final and not just another of his nine lives to be followed with medical science astonished that he was a "miracle man."
The loss to those who knew and loved Walt is great, but it doesn't compare to the joy of being around him, sharing laughter, blessings, and life's ups and downs. Walt's superpower was his uncanny ability to make each individual feel special; this was genuine. His humor and compassion were boundless. He made each person a part of his family and considered it his goal in life to make someone else smile each day; this came across in words, thoughts, and deeds. God must believe we are all special that God lent him to us for so long. On the other hand, maybe Walt was proof that God has a sense of humor.
Walt was preceded in death by his parents Walter A. and Lillian J. Kixmiller (Vincennes, Indiana), his only sister Beverly and her husband, Ronald Todd (Hopkinsville, Kentucky), an infant daughter, Debra Sue Kixmiller, three sons-Matthew Daren Kixmiller (Corvallis, Oregon), Tony Lynn Walden (Littleton, Colorado), and Douglas Wayne Kixmiller (Lake Tahoe, Nevada), his only son-in-law Bruce John Carpenter (Bailey, Colorado) and one great-grandson Seth Walden (Colorado Springs.) This group is leading Heaven's biggest extended family reunion ever.
Planning to join Walt with the Heavenly group (preferably much, much later) are his wife Cindy (Centennial, CO), his daughter Tina Carpenter (Bailey, CO), his son David (Englewood, CO) and his son Walter Damon (Stateline, NV). Walt also leaves behind 14 grandchildren; Tony's—Heather, Amber, Kala and Brody Walden; Tina's—Christina (Garret) Miller and John (Emily) Carpenter; David's—Billy, Lazarus, Zebulon and Autumn; Damon's—Quinn and Dylan; and Doug's—Jack and Lexi. All this and seven great grandchildren: Cole, Marshall and Eli Miller, Inara, Dominic and Isaac Walden, and Sadee (Trevor) Hewitt, plus two great-great grandchildren, Winston and Lincoln Hewitt.
